Three-Tier Jewellery Box - Tasmanian Blackwood and Rock Maple

This jewellery box is hand-crafted from Tasmanian Blackwood and has a veneered lid of figured Messmate with a Rock Maple and Queensland Walnut border. The inside liner and trays are Rock Maple and the hinges are solid brass with incorporated stays which hold the lid open at a little over 90 degrees. The partitions in the base of the box underneath both trays are removable so that space can be configured to fit larger items if desired. The partitions inside the lower tray are movable by sliding them to the desired position, or they can be removed completely. The top tray has a ring holder section which is lined with black velvet and can hold seven rings.

The box is finished with a hardwax oil and then hand buffed with furniture wax to give it a silky smooth feel.
